Reggae music often embodies both spiritualism and social awareness. Combining messages of peace and love, this genre of music remains timeless and captivating.

There’s no shortage of music labels promoting this upbeat music genre. But very often, we miss out on lesser-known quality acts while focusing on the most visible artists. Today, we’ll introduce you to one such potential act worth checking out.

Dasvibes: The Identity

Marvin Wade Reid is an Australian Jamaican artist, singer, producer, and IT enthusiast who has multiple projects, produced tracks, and considerable experience in the music industry.

Fans who have come across his works may know him as Dasvibes or DJ Wade. Marvin uses these stage names depending on whether he’s performing, collaborating, or producing the music at hand.

Foray Into Music

DJ Wade began making inroads into the local music scene in Jamaica decades back. It was in the early 1990s when he got together with his brother, Bobby, and began running gigs in and around Seaview Gardens, Jamaica.

Similar to events known locally as the Dub Sonic, the duo began building their rapport and experience across local music joints and shows.

Dipping Into IT

Dasvibes always knew that music was his primary passion. But the man also had a deep fascination with technology and its endless prospects.

As a result, he pursued a degree in IT in the late 90s at Kingston College. He would later move to Australia, where he added another feather to his proverbial cap. Wade qualified as a mobile applications developer soon after he arrived in Australia.

Then on, he would dabble in IT projects alongside an active career as a DJ, producer, and performer.

Evolving Music

Standing as DJ Wade, Marvin toured a vast number of countries performing and entertaining a variety of crowds and venues. His DJ stints took him across countries like Japan in the far east, the UAE in the middle-east, and New Zealand down south.

His gigs and projects in countries like Papua New Guinea and Australia saw him produce a wide range of music styles fused with Reggae beats.

He draws inspiration from an extensive set of experiences. Today, he continuously creates music that seeks to bring joy, tell stories, and remain timeless across seasons.

His favorite acts include the likes of Sean Paul and Rihanna. And you’ll find distinct dancehall themes of these artists across many of his productions.

What the Future Holds

One of DJ Wade’s gripping new projects includes a unified album called ‘Respect.’ This project seeks to bring together artists, performers, and contributors worldwide, creating a unique sound and well-defined set of tunes.

You may enjoy the grooves of his older productions and newer collaborations. So, check out DJ Wade, or Dasvibes as he’s also known, on any of his social media handles or widely used streaming platforms.

You can find him as Dasvibes or @dasvibes on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Spotify. You’ll love the off-beat tones and relaxing grooves he combines on his trademark tracks.
