Reframing the world of music, Lofi Afrobeats, hailing from the depths of Southern Africa, has emerged as an avatar redefining the realm of chill music. Donning an African tribal mask as an homage to his African heritage and a symbolic veil to focus attention solely on his art, this music producer has created a near revolution in the industry with his novel genre African Lofi music.

Drawing upon his decade-run in the musical battlefield, indulging in roles from a Hip-hop producer to rapper, Lofi Afrobeats explored and evolved to ultimately discover his unique musical brand. Not one to rest on his laurels, he lived by his mantra, ‘The crown is never given, it is earned,’ which has seen him foster partnerships with talented rising artists from across the globe.

Getting recognised for his unique sound – a tranquil blend of traditional chill beats and various African genres, Lofi boasts over a staggering 16+ million views collectively across Instagram and TikTok, fuelling his fan base to gigantic sums of 400,000 on Instagram and 120,000 on TikTok.

In a conversation describing his music to the first-time listener, he articulates it being chilled, relaxed but indeed pulsating with authentic African rhythm. Nonetheless, Lofi plans a shift from instrumental African Lofi towards a more lyrical realm of Afrobeats, no less energetic or rhythmic, but laden with powerful messages and emotions to captivate the listeners.

When inquired about his foray into music, Lofi recalled dabbling in music over a decade ago but confessed to contemplating throwing in the towel in 2021. However, with a spark of inspiration, he spearheaded a new music genre termed ‘African Lofi’ combining traditional Lofi Music with African beats. His debut album in this genre, African Lofi Volume 1, shortly followed by albums “Moyo Waupweke” and “Savannah Heartbreak Stories”, marked a steady growth in his fan base. The real breakthrough came through a short video featuring his viral song ‘Good Vibes Infinitititi’, which currently enjoys over 2 million streams on Spotify.

Currently working on various projects, including experimenting with Afro Salsa sound in collaboration with artists Paola Houghton from Venezuela and Sami Boy from Panama, Lofi aims to release a 4 track EP ‘Its 2 am, and I Miss You’. This project marks his debut as a songwriter, singer and performing artist. He looks forward to launching a full-length album by the end of the year.

Lofi Afrobeats defines his music as an emotional landscape and strives for his listeners to connect with the moods his songs transmit. With his sights set on pushing African Lofi to the loftiest heights of chill music, his fans can look forward to a song ‘Ma Sunshine’ in collaboration with one of the world’s biggest Lofi Music Producers, L.Dre, launching soon. Also, he’ll be performing live in Denmark at the SCANDISOUND Music Festival on May 24th and 25th.

To stay connected, Lofi can be found on his official website, Instagram, Tiktok, and YouTube.
